Christmas is a testament to the whole world that there is a God in Heaven and that he has a son, Jesus Christ.

There are a lot of false gods and saviors running around the world, now including “AI God” and “AI Jesus.” Good grief!

None of them split the calendar between BC (Before Christ) and AD (Anno Domini, Latin for “Year of our Lord”). Who can do that besides God?

This was literally the event of the ages, prophesied in the Old Testament in detail hundreds of years before His birth, like:

Isaiah 7:14 - "Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel."

Micah 5:2 - "But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times."

Isaiah 9:6 - "For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."

If those prophetical statements were literally fulfilled in the birth of Christ, wouldn’t you think the prophecies of His second coming should also be examined? They are plentiful and were given thousands of years ago.

Everybody likes babies and thoughts of “Peace on earth, goodwill to men,” but not on the terms that God set. There will be no peace or goodwill short of accepting Christ; namely, He offers the FREE GIFT of salvation today to all who would bend their knee.

For any who reject Christ and his FREE GIFT in this age, only the anticipation of judgment remains. This mass realization is seen in Revelation 6:15-17:

Revelation 6:15 “And the kings of the earth, and the princes, and the chief captains, and the rich, and the strong, and every bondman and freeman, hid themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains; 16 and they say to the mountains and to the rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb: 17 for the great day of their wrath is come; and who is able to stand?”

In other words, they finally get it that God exists, that he sits on a throne, that he has a Son whose wrath has come - and worse, that there is no way to escape that wrath.

Even then, Christ offers His FREE GIFT of salvation, and many are saved from His wrath.

Ah. Peace. There is no substitute. Even in the midst of chaos, His enduring and persistent peace endures.

John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.”

Indeed, this is the message of Christmas. Peace. Peace with God. Peace from God. Seek it out today.
